ONCOLOGY MASSAGE

Oncology massage is a client-specific, customized massage sesssion designed to meet the unique and changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or with a history of cancer treatment.

A safe massage plan generally revolves around the side effects (both short- and long-term) of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.  Massage for people with cancer is promoted as a natural way to help clients relax and cope with:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Pain

Generally, massage therapy can help lift our clients mood, improve their sleep and enhance their well being. There is some evidence to help support these benefits.

KINESIOLOGY TAPING

Kinesiology Taping is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and can be used for hundreds of common injuries such as lower back pain, knee pain, shin splints, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tennis elbow, just to name a few.

It is applied along muscles, ligaments, and tendons to provide a lightweight, external support that helps you remain active while recovering from injuries without the bulk and restriction commonly associated with wraps and heavy bracing.

It can also help with alignment. If you have a tendency to slouch or have an area of the body that is not properly aligned Kinesiology tape can bring the body back into alignment. Having correct alignment can decrease pain and help the joints recover from activities.

Kinesiology tape also decreases pain in certain areas of the body that may be bothersome. Following a massage treatment, Kinesiology tape can be placed on the affected area to decrease pain and discomfort. If there is bruising or swelling, there is a taping method that helps drain fluids into the lymphatic ducts to decrease swelling and help rid the body of bruising.

Costs:
Consultation and Taping £15
Sports Taping one area £5
Sports Taping two areas £8
